As you watch your hometown parade today, remember the sacrifices made for our country. As tough as things have been here over the past few years, we are still some of the most fortunate people in the world.
If you were asked to sacrifice something, what would you be willing to give up?
- Mobile phone
- Automobile
- Choice/options while shopping
- Freedom of speech
- Access to immediate information
- Personal safety
- Clean water sources
- Safe food
Do we feel entitled to these things? Do we deserve them? What if… tomorrow, you were to lose one of these?
There is so much we take for granted and feel we deserve or have earned. When you think about your happiness, which of these items really adds to that feeling?
My hope is that today, and every day, you show gratitude and appreciation for the things and people in your life. That you take stock of what you do have and pay little attention to what you lost or no longer have.
