Technology, technology. Who cares, right? It is all changing so quickly, how can we keep up with it all. Maybe that’s what makes it fun.
I recently saw a new way to view the news.
All you need to do is hover over a box and see a snippet more info and click on the box for a link to the source of the story.
Then, again from Twitter, I saw news about Google’s “Wave”. Not yet released, but coming this year.
Google says:
“A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more”.
Wave seems like part blog, part email, part IM, part Twitter, part Facebook all wrapped into one.
These tools help us share information faster and farther. They enlighten and de-burden.
Thomas Friedman’s book, The World is Flat, talks about how the internet has flattened the world by providing more equal access to information.
We should understand how technology impacts our world and our lives so we can better prepare for the future. With all this flattening, there are so many more opportunities for everyone to find creative ways to make money. You no longer need to have a store front to sell things or a large budget to promote your business. You can sell almost anything on-line with the thousands of tools available.
