When my first son was about 2 years old, we would sit together at the kitchen table and eat breakfast. We would look out the window and I would ask him what he wanted to do that day. Usually I got the same response, “Play with Casey” (his best friend). To mix up our conversation a bit, I began asking “What’s the weather like today?” On the rare occassion when we have cloudless and sunny skies, he would say “Its a blue sky day”. He would follow that up with “we can do anything”.
The next time you are looking out the window, wondering what to do next, use your toddler eyes to see the endless possibilities and opportunities of a Blue Sky Day, where you can do anything. It is a wonderful feeling.
